Parque Ecologico Janauari
Janauari Ecological Park (Parque Ecológico Janauari) is a flooded-forest nature stop on Rio Negro's Lake Janauari, in Iranduba across the river from Manaus. Its signature experience is a boardwalk-and-boat journey through seasonally drowned igapó forest out to a lake carpeted with giant Victoria amazonica water lilies, the Amazon's most photogenic aquatic plant. A working ecological park, restaurant and tour base rolled into one, it pairs a slow forest walk — where wild monkeys, sloths and river birds drift into view overhead — with a riverside plate of regional Amazonian fish. For most travellers it is the heart of a day tour from Manaus that also touches the famous Meeting of the Waters and pink-river-dolphin habitat nearby.
