Kappelinmäki Nature Trail is a short, rewarding loop through old deciduous forest on Kuusisto island in Kaarina, Finland, where the themes of cultural history and nature intertwine. From the summit of Kappelinmäki — a rocky hill about 50 metres above sea level — sweeping views open over Kuusisto Bay, while interpretive boards along the path tell the story of the landscape's human past. The trail sits right next to the atmospheric ruins of Kuusisto Bishop's Castle, making it easy to combine a forest walk with a fascinating medieval heritage visit.
