AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Creation Walk Nature Trail is a 1.25-mile loop through the woods, along a quiet creek, and across open fields in rural Marilla, New York, just southwest of Buffalo. Created as a community outreach by the First Baptist Church of Marilla and opened in 2013, the trail winds around a donated 59-acre property with signs highlighting native trees and short inspirational quotations.↗↗↗
With an easy, flat route that most visitors complete in about 25 minutes, it's a favorite for families with young children, dog walkers, and anyone seeking a quick immersion in nature without driving deep into a state park. The trail is well maintained, open dawn to dusk year-round, and free to visit.↗↗
What Makes It Special
The trail's spirit is one of gentle wonder. It was conceived as a way to celebrate the natural world—"to remind everyone of the glory of God as seen in creation and revealed in nature," in the words of the church's pastor—and to offer a genuinely enjoyable recreational walk to the surrounding community. That dual mission means you'll find an unhurried path marked with small educational signs about the trees you pass and occasional scriptural quotes, without ever feeling like a sermon along the way.
