AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Six Flags Over Georgia is the big, buzzy amusement park just west of Atlanta in Austell, Georgia — and it carries the nickname "The Thrill Capital of the South" for good reason. With more than 45 rides and attractions, 12 world-class roller coasters and the seven-acre Hurricane Harbor Atlanta water park, it packs a full day of coasters, shows, kids' rides and splash zones into one sprawling, family-friendly resort.↗↗
Whether you're a seasoned coaster chaser, a family hunting for gentle rides for little ones, or just want an easy day-trip escape from the city, the park is built to give everyone their own version of an adventure — from the 200-foot hypercoaster Goliath to a wave pool and lazy river.↗↗↗
A coaster mecca for every kind of thrill-seeker
The heart of Six Flags Over Georgia is its roller coasters, and the park sorts them into a spectrum you can actually feel: from a national-landmark wooden classic to gravity-defying steel giants. The Great American Scream Machine is a historic wooden coaster painted red, white and blue, celebrated as a national roller coaster landmark and famous for the weightless airtime over its humps. Twisted Cyclone blends that classic wooden structure with a smooth steel track for a ten-story dive and a reverse cobra roll.
