Livingstone Hill
Livingstone Hill is a modest but rewarding peak rising to around 923 metres on the Great Dividing Range, just a short drive from the historic Monaro village of Michelago. Sitting roughly 50 kilometres south of Canberra, it offers sweeping, unobstructed panoramas across the Southern Tablelands — from the Tinderries Range to the east, northward toward the Australian capital, and south toward Cooma and the Snowy Mountains. This is not a developed tourist attraction but rather an open grassy summit on working farmland, marked by a trig station and topped with communication towers. What it lacks in infrastructure, it makes up for in the sense of wide, wild space and 360-degree views that few easily accessible peaks in the region can match.
