Shiv Kali Temple
Tucked into the Krishna Nagar quarter of Agartala, the Shiv Kali Temple is a small, shaded neighbourhood shrine where Lord Shiva and Goddess Kali are worshipped side by side beneath the spreading branches of old banyan trees. It is a working place of devotion rather than a grand monument: cool, quiet by day and quietly crowded after dark, when evening aarti draws local families in. What gives the temple its particular pull is atmosphere and tradition. Visitors describe a hushed, almost meditative calm under the canopy, and the shrine is long associated by devotees with royal Manikya-era roots and the ancient forest rite of Ker Puja. For a traveler already in the Tripura capital, it is an easy, authentic detour into how faith is lived here day to day.
