Dokin Toranj
Đokin Toranj (also written Dokin Toranj, 2,088 m) is the summit of Mount Treskavica and the highest of the peaks that ring Sarajevo—roughly only 300 m lower than the tallest mountain in Bosnia and Herzegovina. From a limestone crown in the Dinaric Alps some 30 km south of the capital, it delivers one of the country's grandest 360-degree panoramas, looking across Bjelašnica, Visočica, Jahorina, Prenj and, on very clear days, all the way toward Montenegro and the Adriatic Sea. The peak is a hiker's summit rather than a roadside lookout: the classic routes climb up through beech forest and past glacial mountain lakes to a stone cairn on the top. The reward is a sense of standing on the roof of a whole range, with Sarajevo's Olympic mountains spread out below and the rugged karst of Herzegovina falling away to the south.
