Titlis
Titlis is the great snow-crowned peak that rises above the Alpine village of Engelberg in central Switzerland, and it has been making mountain dreams come true for well over a century. Reachable almost entirely by cable car, it lets visitors stand on eternal ice at more than 3,000 metres without ever putting on climbing boots — a rare blend of engineering spectacle, glacier adventure and sweeping high-Alpine views. The climb is an attraction in itself: you glide up in the Rotair, the world's first revolving cable car, which turns 360 degrees as it carries you to the summit. At the top, Europe's highest suspension bridge and a walkable glacier cave carved into millennia-old ice await, while in winter the same snowfields become a celebrated ski area. It is one of Switzerland's most rewarding day trips and is open year-round.
