North Brother Lookout
North Brother Lookout is one of the best coastal panoramas on the New South Wales mid-north coast that you can reach by car. Perched at the summit of North Brother Mountain inside Dooragan National Park, a short climb above the river town of Laurieton, it hands you a sweeping 180-degree view over the Camden Haven Inlet, the patchwork of coastal lakes, the glittering Pacific and a wall of green ranges — with almost no effort required. It is as much a gathering place as a viewpoint: a picnic area with toilets and shelter, open lawn to stretch out on, gliders drifting overhead, and a network of walks that range from a wheelchair-accessible loop to a serious bushwalk. Easy, family-friendly and reliably spectacular, it is the kind of stop locals happily bring visiting guests to again and again.
