Lac Lavieu
Lac Lavieu is a small, officially named wilderness lake set in the unorganized territory of Lac-Ashuapmushuan, within the Le Domaine-du-Roy regional county municipality of Quebec's Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region. Far from resort strips and paved shorelines, it lies in the heart of the broad lake-and-river country that defines this corner of the Canadian Shield. The lake itself carries no visitor facilities, but it sits inside a landscape built around fishing, paddling and quiet: the Sépaq-run Ashuapmushuan Wildlife Reserve nearby is celebrated for walleye, northern pike, brook trout and lake trout, for canoe routes threading dozens of lakes, and for the wild Ashuapmushuan River. For a traveler drawn to true backcountry water, Lac Lavieu's appeal is precisely this—solitude and nature rather than services.
