AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Lido La Scogliera is a family-run beach club tucked into a quiet corner of the Costa degli Dei, Calabria's famed "Coast of the Gods," a few minutes' drive from Tropea at Contrada Genola in Parghelia. Where the flashier lidos crowd the headline beaches, this one trades on a simpler charm: a stretch of pale sand fringed by a clear, rocky reef, an unpretentious seafront bar, and a run-by-a-family warmth that keeps regulars coming back season after season.↗↗↗
It suits travelers who would rather trade a few minutes of downhill walking for uncrowded loungers, glassy water and a sunset aperitivo—then wander off to the celebrated Michelino beach next door, just a few dozen metres along the shore.↗↗
A cove of sand and scogli
The name says it: la scogliera, the reef. Beneath the rows of sunbeds the shore gives way to clear, shallow water over rocks teeming with small fish, and visitors repeatedly single out the limpid, almost turquoise sea here as the highlight—many liken it to blue-flag water. Well-spaced umbrellas mean you rarely feel packed in, and the section of beach by the club tends to stay quieter than the busier stretches down the coast.
