This Hotel is wonderful. The Staff are amazing and friendly and courteous.|We stayed for a week and everything was so good. We were able to park our car underground safely.|We had a beautiful ground floor room with a pool view and terrace with comfy seats. The bed, bathroom and toiletries were superb, dressing gowns and slippers too.|The AC was just simply the best and worked brilliantly. Water is provided plus Tea and Coffee facilities.|We were in Evora for a 2 day Wedding, so did a little bit of sightseeing but in almost 40* spent a lot of time by the Pool. Plentiful comfortable sun beds and effective large parasols ( you don’t get sunburnt under them! ) lovely pool towels are provided and you can change them daily.|The pool bar has waiter service and wonderful beer and cocktails.|There is a rooftop bar too that does very, very good food ( Pizzas, Tapas etc) and that worked out well on World Cup Football match nights.|The Breakfast is incredible- best ever.|Huge choices of eggs, ( some you need to order) smoked salmon, cheeses, fruit, pastries, sausages, bacon, cereals, pancakes and breads. Plus it is served until 11.30am.|We ate once in the fine dining Restaurant. Very very good food, Scallops on a bed of parsnip puree, Slow roast lamb and Pork delicious. All regional specialities but nicely upmarket. A good bottle of red was recommended and we ate outside on the terrace.|Big shout out to all the Staff including the Groundsmen and Housekeeping.|Thankyou to the clever Bar Staff and to Rita and Jimena for their sunny smiles, hard work and endless energy!

I have booked this hotel for our 30th wedding anniversary. This hotel is one of the spa hotels in this area. Main reason we choose this hotel is for their spa facilities. Few days before our arrival my wife made a reservation for massage. You would think during this phone call to their spa it would be a great chance to say that actually our indoor pool and jacuzzi is under renovation. We'll we found out about it during our check in. To be fair turkish sauna and regular sauna was not under renovation, but it should have been. Turkish sauna has small tiles falling of and laying on the floor. There is also a rusty remnant of a pipe where steam used to come out. So I will definitely not recommend this hotel for its Spa facilities. Not in a near future anyway. Stuff was nice and hotel is in great location though.

A lovely hotel, easily accessible by car with secure parking and within walking distance of all of the sights. Also has electric car charging facilities.|Rooms are spacious and well fitted and there is a great terrace and pool area for lounging. Superb buffet breakfast and excellent food choice and service on the terrace. |Two days is probably sufficient to take in all of the sites in Evora.

Elegant, peaceful, and full of character. Spacious rooms, relaxing atmosphere, and beautiful combination of historical charm and contemporary style. M'AR De AR Aqueduto is a luxury hotel located in the historic city of Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and Roman history. The hotel is built around a restored sixteenth-century palace that once belonged to the Sepúlveda family. One of its most distinctive features is its location beside the city’s famous aqueduct, the Água de Prata Aqueduct, which dates back to the sixteenth century and remains an important symbol of Évora’s history. The hotel preserves many original architectural elements, including stone arches, courtyards, and historic walls, giving guests a sense of the region’s rich cultural past. I highly recommend a stay at the hotel. Friendly staff and easy access to resturants and heritage sites. Great walking city!

Extremely disappointed in this hotel. I was told it was an absolute 5 Star gem, and the reviews sort of support that. But I was also told they only had a suite for the four nights I am staying here. So that's what I booked. And yes, the room is huge in fact it is two rooms and a balcony. But the view from the balcony looks out at a bunch of roofs… Nothing else. The furniture definitely needs replacing as it is threadbare in places. The bed on the side near the bathroom is completely collapsed and the mattress needs replacing. Had to sleep on the far side of the bed. The curtains were probably lovely when they were first installed however they are now sad and hanging limply and do not close fully. This is unfortunate because that means the blackout drapes do not close and I like to sleep in a dark room. And also, because the hallways are very sterile they are extremely echoey. So if someone is walking down the hall with a suitcase and or talking it is very loud in the rooms. Luckily the room is large because there really is no common lounge space to sit and be comfortable. The bar is nice and the breakfast lovely but I was hoping to have more of a Portuguese experience. This hotel could be absolutely anywhere in the world and has little ambience. I am very sad because this is probably the only time I will visit Portugal And this is not the type of experience I wanted to have

They have a huge bug problem, termites possibly. The first room they gave us, at the end of the hall on the second floor, had hundreds of bugs, some big, some small, some with wings, some without, crawling around the floor and the walls in the entry way. We returned to the front deck to show a video. They didn't need the video. They knew they had a problem. The second room, 128, didn't have any bugs but it did stick like bug spray. We opened the doors to the terrace but it was just too smelly, too awful. I went back to the front desk and asked if they had any rooms without poison and without bugs, and the front deck clerk actually winced and said "hold a minute". Twenty minutes later we tried a third room, number 126, and it seemed okay- didn't smell bad- but then we went into the bathroom and we were greeting by more bugs. The clerk offered for us to try a forth room but by then we had had enough. We asked for our money back. He said he knew the process well as this was common for them these days. We suggested he work somewhere else where he doesn't have to say "sorry" all the time for the disgusting and/or poisonous inventory of rooms he provides to guests. We got back in the car and continued on our way without seeing Evora.

Stayed at this hotel in Evora, Portugal for 2 nights - May 18th and 19th, 2026. The positives are that this hotel is within walking distance of the center of town. The downsides were 1) There is a gym but the equipment in not functional. 2) The Wi-Fi is of very poor quality.

The only reason i went was for the spa and indoor swimming pool, which i found out upon arrival was out of action, being renovated (not advised of this on booking.com). I could use the sauna and steam room, but there was building work going on so it wasn't exactly very nice. I asked about leaving early, and getting a refund for the 2nd night. they said at reception it 'would be fine and not to worry'. I chased up several times and they kept saying it was being processed. 3 weeks later they've just informed me because I booked through Booking.com they can't do it
