Flushing Meadows Corona Park
Flushing Meadows Corona Park is New York City's fourth-largest green space and the cultural heart of Queens. Spanning nearly 900 acres between the neighborhoods of Flushing and Corona, this former ash dump was transformed into a Beaux-Arts masterpiece for the 1939 World's Fair and reimagined again for the 1964–65 fair. Today it blends those fair legacies — the soaring Unisphere, the futuristic New York State Pavilion, monumental sculptures — with a constellation of museums, a zoo, professional sports venues, lakes, trails, and seasonal festivals. With over seven million visitors a year, it's a park that genuinely has it all. Whether you come for a Mets game, a US Open match, a science museum outing with kids, a paddleboat on Meadow Lake, or a photo in front of the Unisphere, this is one of the most versatile and surprising destinations in New York City.
