Pansky Oak
Pansky Oak is the oldest tree in Belgorod Oblast and one of the most remarkable natural monuments in Russia's Black Earth region. This colossal pedunculate oak stands approximately 550 years old, rising 35 metres above the gentle landscape between the villages of Yablochkovo and Dmitrievka in Shebekino District. With a trunk circumference of 5.5 metres and a crown spread of 25 metres, it is a living witness to centuries of Russian history. In 2023, Pansky Oak took second place in the national competition "Russian Tree of the Year," earning a commemorative plaque at its base. The tree holds both regional and federal protected status as a nature monument and is listed in Russia's National Register of Memorial Trees since 2013.
