Teuto-Express
Teuto-Express is a volunteer-run heritage railway based at Lienener Straße 100 in Lengerich, Westphalia, billed as a "rolling railway museum" that breathes steam-era life into the branch lines of the Tecklenburger, Osnabrücker and Münsterland countryside. Rather than a hall full of static exhibits, the experience rides: restored steam and diesel locomotives pull authentic 1949–1956 passenger carriages on weekend excursions that link spa towns, forest villages and small historic stations. Operating continuously since 1977, it is one of Germany's longest-running excursions for railway nostalgia, with a fleet that includes the tender locomotive 78 468, the heavy freight engine 50 3655, the diesel V 36 412 and the 1926 railcar VT 03 — said to be the country's oldest working internal-combustion railcar. Its warm, family-friendly atmosphere, chimney-smoke-and-all, makes it a charming day out for children and rail enthusiasts alike.
