Laguna la Yerba
Laguna la Yerba is a small, low-elevation lagoon on Cuba's southern Pinar del Río coast, part of the Istmo de Guanahacabibes wetland system — the largest lagoon-and-marsh complex on the island. Sitting at just five metres above sea level near the hamlet of Playa La Salina, it belongs to a broad belt of shallow lagoons fed by the Cuyaguateje River's coastal derivations. This is not a marked tourist site with facilities or a boardwalk. It is a quiet body of water embedded in a scientifically important wetland landscape where rare endemic fish still survive and coastal birds work the shallows. Its value lies in proximity to untouched Cuban wilderness rather than any curated visitor experience.
